God does not do things by halves. In our galaxy there are 100,000 million stars, like our sun. Our galaxy is one of 100,000 million galaxies. In a throw-away line in Genesis, the writer tells us, ‘He also made the stars’ (Genesis 1:16). God is so generous and he ‘gives generously to all’ (James 1:5).

Instead of talking budgets, buildings, dollars, and cents, take a chance and offer people the opportunity to become the loving, generous people God created them to be. And maybe, just maybe, your people, your church and the world will be forever changed; and who knows, you might even make budget.

At times we think God hasn’t provided for us as we would like. But if He never did anything more than forgive our sins and guarantee heaven for us, He has already been abundantly generous! So today, let’s rejoice in our generous God.

For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. It’s clear that God is a generous God.

Yet, when we listen to the Spirit of Truth who is transforming us to look more like Him, we find that God will equip us to benefit others. Our God is a generous God. I forget this sometimes.

2 God made man in his image. ( Gen. 1:27 ) That is, we were created to reflect his personality. In order to attain happiness and fulfillment, then, we need to follow Jehovah’s example by being interested in others and by being generous givers.
