@ellie: i used to think, that jeans and flat, comfortable shoes look much better with cotton socks than with sheer hose. it’s just that little extra of warmth, that pantyhose can bring when worn under jeans. but i never liked them visible between shoe and pants. so i found that socks pulled on top create that perfect "no tights"-look.
